Time To extend your REACH   On 1 June 2007, the European Commission REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) Regulation came into effect. What will this mean for your business? How to meet the screening requirements for over 30,000 chemical products currently on the market?   REACH raises questions that will require frequent communication between your staff and ExxonMobil Chemical Fluids. REACH Together eNews is part of our commitment to communicating with you about REACH, developing and facilitating mutual understanding and providing a helpful view of compliance with REACH.   Each edition will include an in-depth article designed to help you assimilate information about REACH. At the same time, we will provide a brief update on the progress with regard to ExxonMobil Chemical’s Fluids REACH preparation activities.   Future editions may include: How substances, preparations and articles are treated within the REACH framework The role of various supply chain participants: Downstream users, importers, manufacturers How REACH substances and Fluids products should be identified How to prepare for REACH and when to register Fluids product REACH pre-registration and registration A summary of Fluids product hazard data The roles of the Substance Information Exchange Fora (SIEF) within REACH   Together we are on the threshold of a new and challenging phase in the chemical industry. This will require a standardised and consistent approach that effectively allocates resources.   We believe that communication needs to be interactive in order to be successful.
